Concrete Patio Construction — Turn Your Backyard Into a Space You Actually Use

A good patio changes how you use your outdoor space. It gives you a clean, flat surface for furniture, a grill, a fire pit, or just somewhere to sit without grass under your feet. A bad patio, one that was poured without proper drainage or on an uncompacted base, will crack, settle, and hold water within a few years.

We build concrete patios that are flat, properly sloped, and finished to last. We have done hundreds of them over 10 years. Backyard patios, front entry patios, wraparound patios, and poolside concrete slabs are all built the same way, correctly.

If you want a patio that looks good on day one and still looks good in year fifteen, you need the base done right, the pour done right, and the drainage done right. That is exactly what we do.

How We Build It: The Right Approach for Your New Patio

Not every patio job is the same. Some customers want a clean, simple grey slab. Others want something that looks like stone or brick. Some need an extension added to an existing pad. We have the right solution for each situation.
STANDARD CONCRETE PATIO INSTALLATION STAMPED CONCRETE PATIO CONSTRUCTION CONCRETE PATIO REPAIR, EXTENSION & REPLACEMENT

A standard poured concrete patio is the most popular choice for a reason. It is affordable, durable, low maintenance, and when it is done right, it looks sharp and stays flat for decades. No weeds growing through gaps. No pavers shifting or sinking. No gravel scattering everywhere.

We excavate the area, compact the base, set forms at the right height and slope, and pour with the right concrete mix for outdoor use. We finish it clean and cut control joints so the concrete moves where we want it to instead of cracking randomly.

✔ Excavation to proper depth and full sub-base compaction before any concrete

✔ Forms set at the correct slope, minimum 1/8 inch per foot away from the house

✔ Concrete mix chosen for outdoor use and your local freeze-thaw climate

Want a patio that looks like natural stone, brick, or slate without the maintenance headache of real pavers? Stamped concrete is the answer. Stamped concrete maintains the strength of the concrete base and the proper pour, resulting in a surface that is significantly more impressive than plain grey.

We offer a range of stamp patterns and colour combinations to match your home and landscaping. Stamped concrete patios provide the appearance of high-end materials at a significantly lower cost and require less maintenance over time.

✔ Multiple stamp patterns, cobblestone, flagstone, slate, wood plank, and more

✔ Colour hardener integral to the mix for colour that goes all the way through

✔ Antiquing release applied for depth and natural variation in the finish

Do you have an existing patio that has cracked, settled, or become too small for your current needs? We handle all three scenarios, repair what can be fixed, extend what needs more room, or tear out and replace what is beyond saving.

We never patch over a patio that has a drainage or base problem, that fix never lasts. We find the root cause, address it, and then do the repair or new pour. If you are adding on to an existing patio, we match the height and slope so the old and new sections work together properly.

✔ Full assessment of the existing patio before any repair or extension work begins

✔ Sub-base issues corrected before any new concrete is poured over old ground

✔ Patio extensions matched to existing height and slope for a seamless connection

Why a Concrete Patio Is the Smartest Choice for Your Backyard

Concrete patios last 25 to 30+ years with minimal upkeep
No shifting, no sinking, no weed growth between joints
Easy to clean, a pressure washer once a year is usually all it needs
Handles outdoor furniture, grills, fire pits, and heavy use without damage
Stamped options give you high-end looks without high-end maintenance

Working Process

When professionals handle a concrete patio, it becomes a relatively simple project. Here is how our process goes from the first call to the finished service:

Consultation

We come out to your backyard, look at the space, and talk through what you want. Size, shape, finish style, drainage, steps if needed, we cover it all. We measure everything and leave you with a clear written quote. No vague numbers, no ‘we’ll figure it out as we go.’

Design & Work

On the start date, we excavate and prep the ground properly. We set the forms at the right height and slope. We pour, finish, and cut the control joints. For stamped patios, we apply the stamp and color before the concrete sets. We keep the site organized and respect your lawn and garden throughout the process.

Completion & Aftercare

After the pour, we walk the finished patio with you. We go over the curing period, typically 24 to 48 hours before foot traffic, 7 days before heavy use. We explain sealing and how to keep it looking good. Then we clean up and go. Simple. If something ever comes up after, give us a call.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a concrete patio cost?
It depends on the size, finish type, and any extras like steps or edging. A standard brushed concrete patio is the most affordable option. Stamped concrete costs more due to the additional materials and skill involved, and it typically lasts longer than standard concrete options, often exceeding 25 years with proper maintenance. We give you a full written quote before we start, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
How long does a concrete patio last?
A properly installed concrete patio lasts 25 to 30 years or more. The base preparation, mix design, and control joint placement are the keys to longevity. We do all three correctly on every job. Patios that fail early almost always had a base or drainage problem that was ignored during installation.
How long before I can use my new concrete patio?
You can walk on it after about 24 to 48 hours. For furniture, grills, and regular use, we recommend waiting 7 days. The concrete continues to gain strength for about 28 days after the pour. We walk you through the exact timeline when the job is done.
Can you match my new patio to my existing concrete?
We can get very close on a standard grey finish. An exact colour match on older concrete is difficult because concrete naturally changes colour as it ages. We will be honest about what is achievable before we start. For stamped concrete, a new section can be designed to complement rather than match the existing surface.
